Cookie Policy

1. Your choice

On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept audience measurement. Until you answer, and if you refuse, no measurement tool loads. Your choice counts on every RentalMe site of the same domain, lasts 6 months, and then the banner asks again. It also asks again if the list of tools changes.

You can change your mind at any time with the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of every page.

2. Strictly necessary cookies (no consent needed)

They make the site work. They are not used for advertising or to follow you on other sites.

• access_token: keeps you signed in (read by the RentalMe sites of the same domain). Lasts: 15 minutes, renewed while the session lasts.
• refresh_token: renews your session without asking you to sign in again. Pages cannot read it (httpOnly). Lasts: 28 days, or until you sign out.
• rm_consent: remembers your audience-measurement choice. Lasts: 6 months.
• NEXT_LOCALE: remembers your language. Lasts: 1 year.
• rm_country: the country you connect from, as our network (Cloudflare) sees it, to offer the right phone prefix. Lasts: 24 hours.
• sidebar_state: side menu open or closed (agency and admin spaces). Lasts: 7 days.
• rentalme_blog_id, rentalme_blog_refresh: the blog editor's session, admin space only.

3. Browser storage (no consent needed)

This data stays in your browser; it is not a cookie and is not sent with every page.

• rentalme_locale, rentalme.currency: display language and currency.
• rentalme.wishlists.…: your wishlists.
• rentalme_access_token: an older copy of the session, read only for sessions opened before the shared cookie.
• sidebar-collapsed and folded menus: how the menus are shown.
• rentalme_lastLogin: your last sign-in (masked identifier and profile), to sign you back in faster. Cleared when you sign out.
• Booking in progress (session storage): the payment steps of a booking, cleared when the tab closes.
• rentalme_files (agency space): the PDFs of a contract being prepared, kept until the form is sent.

4. Audience measurement (only if you accept)

• PostHog (hosted in the European Union): page views, clicks, anonymised session recordings (input fields are masked) and error reports, to understand what gets in the way and improve the site. PostHog sets a cookie and a storage entry named "ph_…_posthog". Lasts: 1 year.
• Cloudflare page-view counter: page viewed, referring site, language, time zone and screen size. No cookie; your IP address is not stored as such, only a fingerprint that changes every day, with the country and approximate city.

5. Google services

The map and address search (Google Maps and Places) load on the pages that need them: a vehicle's page, booking, the search map, the agency's address. The "Continue with Google" button loads on the sign-in pages. Google then receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under its own rules: https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies

6. Mobile app

The RentalMe app uses no cookies and no audience-measurement tool. It keeps your session in the phone's secure storage, along with your settings (language, sorting, Face ID or fingerprint lock) and your last searches (city and dates). The public catalogue is kept for 24 hours so it shows faster.

7. What RentalMe does not use

No advertising cookie, no social-network pixel, no sale of browsing data.
