Car rental at Nador port: how RentalMe works

RentalMe is a Moroccan marketplace, not a rental agency. It connects travelers like you with professional car, motorbike and van rental agencies: you compare the available vehicles and their conditions, and book online. RentalMe has no fleet of its own; your contact for the vehicle is always the agency you choose, with its own price, deposit, fuel policy and mileage terms.

Whether you are a tourist, a Moroccan living abroad (MRE) or just passing through, booking before you board lets you arrive in Beni Ensar with everything organized.

Budget: rental prices generally range from 100 DH to 700 DH per day, depending on the vehicle category, the season and the agency.

How to book your car for Nador port step by step

Note the date and estimated arrival time of your ferry at Nador port.
Go to RentalMe on your computer or phone before you travel.
Search the Nador area and enter your pick-up and return dates and times.
Compare the available cars, motorbikes and vans and their conditions.
Complete the booking and keep the agency's details and what was agreed for pick-up.
Keep your booking handy, printed or on your phone, to speed up the handover on arrival.

Availability can vary depending on your dates. Book early, especially in summer and during busy travel periods, to have more choice.

Picking up your rental car at Nador port (Beni Ensar)

For a smooth pick-up, agree the following with the agency before your trip:

The exact handover location: at the port, at an office in town or elsewhere, and how you will recognize the agent or agency.
The approximate arrival time of your ship. The actual time can vary, so let the agency know about any change.
Which documents and which deposit payment method the agency expects.

When you collect the car, inspect it together with the agent:

Bodywork: existing scratches or dents
Interior, tyres and lights
Fuel level and mileage
Air conditioning

Take photos of any damage before you drive off and ask for it to be noted on the contract. This protects you from misunderstandings at return.

Port, city or Nador airport: where to pick up the car?

In the Nador area there are three pick-up options. Each makes sense depending on your trip:

Nador port (Beni Ensar): no extra transfer, you head straight to your destination. Very practical for families and MREs traveling with lots of luggage.
Nador city: makes sense if you spend your first night in the center and prefer to collect the car near your accommodation.
Nador airport: useful if you combine ferry and plane on the same trip, for example to return the car before a flight home. See our guide to car rental at Nador airport.

When comparing on RentalMe, check carefully the pick-up and return location offered by each agency.

Which vehicle to rent at Nador port

The best vehicle depends on your plans, the number of passengers and your luggage. The selection depends on each agency and your dates, but these are the usual categories:

Category	Ideal for	Advantage
City / compact car	Couples, solo travelers, short trips	Easy to park, economical
Sedan	Families, intercity trips	More space and comfort on the road
SUV	Routes through the Rif and rural areas	Higher driving position
Van	Groups, families with lots of luggage	More seats and cargo space
Motorbike	Getting around town and along the coast	Practical and easy to park

Vans are especially popular with MRE families returning to the Rif in summer with suitcases and gifts. If you need an automatic gearbox, check the transmission carefully when comparing.

Read the conditions before confirming

Conditions differ from one agency to another. Read them carefully before confirming your booking and pay particular attention to:

Fuel policy: the level at which you must return the car.
Mileage: what each offer includes, which matters if you plan to tour the Rif or the coast.
Insurance and deposit: what the price includes, which optional cover exists and which payment method the agency accepts.
Handover hours: if your ship arrives very early, at night or on a public holiday, confirm that the agency can hand over the car at that time.
Age and documents: ask the agency what it requires from the driver.

Save the contract, your booking details and the agency's contact on your phone. That way you know where you stand and leave the port with peace of mind.

What to see near Nador port with your rental car

Having a car as soon as you arrive opens up many possibilities. A few ideas for inspiration:

The Mar Chica lagoon: one of the best-known landscapes in the Nador area.
The Rif hinterland: mountain villages and landscapes; see our guide to car rental in Driouch.
East along the coast: trips to Saidia or Berkane.

Practical tips for relaxed driving:

Drive defensively and watch out for motorbikes and pedestrians, especially in urban areas and around the port.
In the mountains, drive calmly and allow more time in bad weather or at night.
Always carry your driving licence, your ID and the rental contract.

Returning the car at Nador port or in another city

Many travelers arrive through Nador port and return to the same port at the end of their trip, or finish somewhere else. The return is as important as the pick-up:

Before booking, ask whether the agency allows you to return the car elsewhere and on what terms.
Arrive with time to spare at the return point. If you return the car at the port before boarding, allow time for the car inspection and for getting to your ferry.
Check the interior: leave no personal belongings behind and make sure the fuel is at the agreed level.
Inspect the car together with the agent and keep any return receipt the agency gives you.
