Saidia spreads across a long beach, a modern Marina and an older town centre, and a rental car is what ties it all together. This guide covers pick-up in Saidia, Oujda-Angads Airport or Nador, choosing the right vehicle, and the day trips waiting along the Mediterranean.
Saidia, often called Morocco's "Blue Pearl", stretches along a long Mediterranean beach and is one of the Oriental region's best-loved destinations. If you want to explore beyond the resort strip, car rental in Saidia is the simplest way to discover quiet coves, local markets and mountain scenery at your own pace. Whether you are planning a family beach holiday, a stay near the Marina, or a road trip through Berkane, Oujda and Nador, having your own wheels makes the journey far more rewarding.
In this guide you will learn:
Saidia's layout spreads across a long beach strip, a modern Marina, resort complexes and an older town centre. Walking between them is possible but slow, and taxis are not always available exactly when you need them. A rental car lets you set your own schedule — whether that means an early drive to a quiet beach, a late dinner in Berkane or a full day in Oujda.
Typical travellers include families in resorts who want to visit nearby villages, couples exploring the coast towards Ras El Ma, and visitors combining Saidia beach with the Beni Snassen mountains. Demand for cars is highest in summer and around major holidays, so it is worth organising your rental early.
Key advantages of renting a car in Saidia:
In Saidia itself, local rental agencies serve the beach and Marina area. Many of them agree a meeting point with you — your hotel reception, the Marina promenade or a central street — rather than running a walk-in counter, so confirm the exact pick-up arrangements in your booking.
Travellers arriving by plane often pick up a car at Oujda-Angads Airport, the nearest airport to Saidia, and drive straight to the coast. On RentalMe you can search by city or airport to see which professional agencies serve each location and compare what they have available.
Visitors landing in Nador can also collect a car there and turn the drive along the Mediterranean into a mini road trip before reaching Saidia. Some agencies allow you to return the car in a different city — ask whether a one-way return is possible when you book.
Quick recap of pick-up options:
The right vehicle depends on your travel style, group size and planned routes. Think about how many people and bags you need to carry, and how much driving you will do outside town.
Whatever category you choose, check the practical details before you confirm: transmission (manual or automatic), air conditioning, number of seats, luggage capacity and any mileage limit. Also confirm the fuel type with the agency so you fill up correctly.
A few careful checks at booking and at pick-up will keep your rental straightforward.

Morocco drives on the right. The routes linking Saidia, Berkane and Oujda are paved national roads, while smaller rural roads can be narrower with more variable surfaces.

RentalMe is Morocco's marketplace for renting vehicles from professional agencies. It is not a fleet operator — it is a platform where travellers browse, compare and book vehicles offered by local agencies, including those serving Saidia and the Oriental region.
How to use the platform:
Always read the conditions of the specific offer before confirming. If you run a rental agency in the Oriental region and want to publish your fleet, gain visibility and manage bookings online, see the RentalMe pricing page.
Is it better to arrange car rental in Saidia or at Oujda-Angads Airport? If you arrive by plane, an airport pick-up saves time and lets you drive straight to your hotel. If you are already settled in Saidia, a local agency can be more flexible and spares you the trip back to the terminal.
Can I rent a car in Saidia and return it in another city? Some agencies allow a return in another city such as Oujda or Nador. Check this when comparing offers, as a one-way return may come with its own conditions.
Do I need a car if I am staying only on Saidia beach? The large resorts are walkable for everyday beach life, but a car is what makes day trips to Berkane, the Moulouya reserve, Ras El Ma or Oujda comfortable.
Should I book my Saidia rental car in advance in summer? Yes — summer and holiday periods are the busiest, and booking early simply gives you more choice of vehicles rather than whatever is left.
Is parking easy near Saidia beach and the Marina? Hotel and Marina parking exists, but in high season the spaces closest to the seafront fill up fast. Arrive early, or park a little further away and walk.
Can I drive my Saidia rental car elsewhere in Morocco? Many travellers combine Saidia with other Moroccan cities. Check any geographic limits in the rental conditions before confirming your booking.
