Car rental in Beni Mellal lets you explore the Middle Atlas at your own pace. This guide helps you choose a vehicle, compare agencies on RentalMe and set off well prepared.
Beni Mellal sits at the foot of Morocco's Middle Atlas and is a good starting point for the Ouzoud waterfalls, Bin El Ouidane lake and the mountain villages around it. Car rental in Beni Mellal gives you flexibility that taxis and public transport can't always offer: your own schedule, stops at scenic viewpoints and more comfort for families and groups. This guide shows you how to choose a vehicle, compare offers, prepare your documents and handle pickup and return with RentalMe.
RentalMe is not a rental company with its own fleet: it is a Moroccan marketplace that connects renters with professional agencies renting cars, motorbikes and utility vehicles. Your rental contract is signed directly with the agency you choose.
Here is the typical booking flow:
Go to the RentalMe website and search for Beni Mellal.
Enter your pickup and return dates.
Compare offers from different agencies.
Filter by vehicle type to match your group and luggage.
Read each agency's conditions before booking.

The right car depends on your itinerary. City only? Mountain excursions? A multi-day tour of the Middle Atlas? Each plan calls for a different type of vehicle.
| Category | Best for |
|---|---|
| City car | Urban driving, easy parking |
| Sedan | Comfort on paved roads |
| SUV | Mixed roads, climbs, more luggage space |
| Van | Large families and groups |
Available cars may have a manual or automatic gearbox: if you prefer an automatic, check each offer or ask the agency. For families who want to explore the area around Beni Mellal with some mountain stretches, an SUV offers more ground clearance and luggage space.
Also check the number of seats, the boot space and whether the car has air conditioning, which is especially useful in summer.
When you have several offers in front of you, comparing them methodically helps you avoid surprises. Check these points for each one:
Mileage: limited or unlimited? Always check the agency's conditions.
Fuel policy: ask what fuel level the car comes with and what level you must return it with.
Additional drivers: check whether adding a second driver costs extra.
Cancellation and changes: policies vary from one agency to another, so read the conditions before confirming.
Insurance and excess: check what is included in the base price and what is optional.
Prices change with the season, the rental length and the vehicle category: compare several offers to find the one that suits your trip.
Rental requirements are not set by RentalMe but by each professional agency. Before you travel, ask the agency:
which documents to bring (ID card or passport, driving licence);
whether there are age or driving-experience requirements;
how the deposit works and which payment methods it accepts.
Before confirming your booking, read the conditions carefully: deposit amount, type of insurance included, any excess, geographic limits on using the vehicle and rules for late returns. A practical tip: save a screenshot of the conditions and ask for written confirmation of the time, pickup location and payment methods.
A careful check at pickup saves you from disputes at return. At pickup:
Show your documents and go through the contract details with the agency staff.
Inspect the bodywork (scratches, dents), windows, tyres, lights, interior and air conditioning.
Ask for every existing damage to be noted on the handover report.
Take photos and short videos of the exterior, interior, number plate and odometer.
Check the fuel level.
Ask about any specific vehicle features and note down the agency's contact numbers.
If you plan to drive on unpaved roads, ask the agency explicitly before you leave and consider a suitable SUV.
Beni Mellal is a good base for exploring the Middle Atlas. Here are some excursion ideas with a rental car:
Ouzoud waterfalls: waterfalls set in a hilly landscape.
Bin El Ouidane lake: a lake with a dam, ideal for a relaxing day.
Villages and plateaus of the Middle Atlas: scenic routes through olive groves, farmland and small rural towns.
Practical driving tips: leave with time to spare, avoid the hottest hours in summer, take regular breaks and bring water. Adapt your speed to road conditions and watch out for animals and pedestrians on rural roads. Before longer excursions, fill up in town.
Following the agency's return instructions makes everything easier. Arrive ahead of the agreed time, bring the vehicle back in the condition you received it and follow the fuel policy in your contract.
At return:
Check the car together with the staff.
Ask for an end-of-rental document.
Keep receipts, the contract, confirmation emails and return photos (exterior, interior, odometer, fuel level) until your deposit has been returned.
