Plan your car rental at Casablanca airport with RentalMe, a marketplace that lets you compare professional agencies before you land at Mohammed V. Learn how to book, what documents to bring and which road trips to take across Morocco.
You land in Casablanca and want to hit the road without waiting around. This guide covers every step of booking car rental at Casablanca airport through RentalMe, from choosing your vehicle to handing back the keys, including budget, documents and road trip ideas across Morocco.
RentalMe is a Moroccan marketplace that connects travelers with professional car rental agencies. The platform does not own a fleet and does not run a desk at the airport: it brings together the offers of partner agencies so you can compare them and book before you arrive. Casablanca Mohammed V Airport is the country's main air gateway and a natural starting point for hiring a car.
The typical process looks like this: go to RentalMe, choose Casablanca Mohammed V Airport as your pick-up location, enter your dates and times, then compare the agencies' offers. Booking before your trip gives you time to read each agency's terms and more choice for the period of your arrival. The agency you select then sends you the meeting point at the airport and its contact details.
Picking up your car on arrival makes the journey into the city or on to any other destination immediate, with no need to rely on a taxi or train timetables. Here are the practical benefits depending on the kind of traveler you are:
Tourists and families: handle luggage, a child seat and the kids' pace without depending on public transport.
MRE (Moroccans living abroad): head straight to family in the city or another region, even if your flight lands late at night.
Business travelers: get to the business district, string together meetings across the metropolis or head off to Rabat with no scheduling constraints.
Road-trippers: set off directly for El Jadida, the Atlantic coast or other cities across the kingdom.
With RentalMe, you compare several professional agencies in one place to find the offer that best suits your trip.
RentalMe brings together car rental offers from professional agencies across Morocco, including those offering pick-up at Casablanca airport and in the city center. On a single page you will find national agencies and local rental companies.
Here is what RentalMe brings to the process:
Centralized search: vehicle category (city car, compact, SUV, family car, van), manual or automatic gearbox, fuel type and each agency's own terms, all visible in one place.
A clear comparison of the partner agencies' offers before you choose.
A marketplace model: RentalMe does not own the cars. The key handover, the vehicle check-in inspection and the service are handled directly with the agency you select.
Here is the step-by-step process to book your vehicle:
Go to RentalMe and choose Casablanca Mohammed V Airport as your pick-up location.
Select your dates and times for the start and end of the rental. Base them on your arrival and departure times, leaving a margin for baggage reclaim and formalities.
Browse the available vehicles at the airport for your period, across the different categories and agencies.
Refine your choice according to your plans (vehicle type, automatic or manual gearbox, number of seats): a city stay, a road trip to Marrakech, a getaway to El Jadida.
Open a few offers to compare: photos of the model, rental terms, fuel policy, airport handover arrangements.
Read the agency's terms carefully (mileage, security deposit, required documents) before confirming.
Book your chosen vehicle through RentalMe and keep the practical information provided by the agency: meeting point, contact details, times.
Keep on your smartphone (or print) your confirmation, your driving licence and your ID to make pick-up easier.
The right vehicle depends on the number of passengers, the amount of luggage, your planned route and your travel style. Agencies offer economy models, saloons, SUVs, family vehicles and minibuses.
| Category | Ideal for |
|---|---|
| City car | City driving, tight parking spaces, short trips |
| Compact / saloon | Casablanca + Rabat, motorway, intercity comfort |
| SUV / 4x4 | Families, bulky luggage, varied roads |
| People carrier (7-9 seats) | Large groups, big families, road trips |
| Minibus / van | Organized groups, equipment or cargo |
Budget: rental rates generally range from 100 DH to 700 DH per day depending on the vehicle category, the season and the agency. On RentalMe, each listing states the number of seats, the gearbox and the fuel type to help you choose the right category when you book.
Most renters pick up their car directly at Mohammed V Airport to reach the city or set off for other destinations. The airport is connected to the motorway network, and signs toward the center of Casablanca appear as soon as you leave the car parks.
A few landmarks reachable by car from the airport:
The business district and Casa-Voyageurs station, in the heart of the city
The Art Deco districts of the center, witnesses to early 20th-century architecture
The Ain Diab Corniche, by the ocean
The Hassan II Mosque, the city's emblematic landmark
From the airport, common routes lead to Rabat, El Jadida or other major cities linked by motorway. A rental car lets you plan several stops in the same day without depending on train or bus timetables. Download offline maps on your navigation app before setting off; this is especially useful in less familiar neighborhoods.
Each agency specifies in its terms the documents it requires: generally your driving licence, an ID document (passport for foreign visitors, national ID card for Moroccans) and the payment method accepted for the security deposit. Check the offer listing before you leave.
Here are the best practices to follow:
At pick-up: depending on the agency, the meeting can take place in the arrivals hall, in a dedicated rental area or in an adjoining car park. Your confirmation states the meeting point.
Vehicle inspection: walk all the way around the vehicle and note any existing damage (scratches, dents, tire condition) on the contract. Take dated photos or videos, side by side.
Agency terms: read the contract to know the included mileage, the fuel policy, the security deposit and the assistance arrangements offered by the agency.
Return: follow the "car rental" signs to the area indicated by the agency. Arrive a little earlier on the day of return, especially in busy periods (holidays, summer, festivals).
The cost of hiring a car at Mohammed V Airport depends on the season, the category and the length of the rental. Exact prices are set by each agency and appear in its offer on RentalMe.
Other things to know:
Security deposit and excess: each agency applies its own terms. Read them in the offer listing before booking.
Options: second driver, child seat, GPS; these extras can increase the daily cost. Compare several offers before you confirm.
Fuel: check the agency's fuel policy and keep your petrol station receipts.
Geographic limits: check for any restrictions (driving within Morocco only, border crossing) and the rules on additional drivers.
Casablanca is a large metropolis with heavy traffic at rush hour, frequent roundabouts and fast roads toward the center and outlying districts. A few habits to adopt:
Drive defensively: anticipate lane changes and watch for pedestrians and two-wheelers on the boulevards.
Choose guarded or underground car parks when visiting the center, the area around the Hassan II Mosque or the Corniche.
The motorway network between major cities is well signposted. Take regular breaks on long journeys.
If possible, avoid entering the city center at office opening and closing times. Plan your trips to or from the airport accordingly.
Car rental at Casablanca airport opens the door to a variety of itineraries, thanks to the freedom of choosing your own route.
An urban circuit in Casablanca: the Hassan II Mosque by the ocean, the Ain Diab Corniche, the Art Deco districts, traditional markets and modern cafés.
A getaway to El Jadida: a pleasant coastal road, a fortified Portuguese city, beaches and a maritime atmosphere. Ideal for a day or a weekend. Also see our guide to car rental in El Jadida.
Casablanca to Rabat: combine two major Atlantic cities in the same stay. Rabat's medina, the Hassan Tower, the Kasbah of the Udayas; every stop is worth the detour. If you are flying out via the capital, read our guide to car rental at Rabat airport.
A long road trip: Marrakech, Fes, Tangier; a rental car from the airport lets you build a personalized itinerary across the whole country. Plan your route in advance and check the RentalMe blog for ideas for tours in Morocco.
